BIGLAKE is proud to present the documentary Genius Within, a poignant and touching film about world-renowned pianist Glenn Gould, directed by Michèle Hozer and Peter Raymont. The film includes intimate interviews of Gould himself as well as from friends, colleagues and lovers with delightful behind the scenes footage. The film cuts through the usual noise focusing on Gould’s eccentricities and reveals the pure essence of the mysterious musical mind of this Canadian legend.
BIGLAKE is presenting J.S Bach’s Goldberg Variations on Sunday August 23rd, a piece that is synonymous with Glenn Gould. This film provides a perfect lens into the significance of this work in Gould’s career and the impact he made with his legendary recordings of this piece all over the world. Pianist Ilya Poletaev will perform this masterpiece on both the harpsichord and the modern piano, providing a truly unforgettable and unique experience.
